PATHWAYS PSYCHOTHERAPY
Psychology and Counselling Therapy for Individuals & Couples
get to know JOSEPH
We are delighted to have welcomed Joseph Saldarriaga to the Pathways Psychotherapy team from September 2026. Joseph is a counsellor with a background in psychological sciences and counselling, and experience supporting people through a range of life challenges, including crisis and mental health concerns. His extensive work with Lifeline and in community counselling settings has developed a grounded, compassionate approach to supporting people when they may be feeling overwhelmed, uncertain or simply in need of a safe space to talk.
Joseph has also contributed to MindsetCARE, developing experience in community-based mental health support, advocacy and reducing stigma around mental health.
He has further been involved with 'Elders at Ease' (ELATE), an evidence-informed program developed through Swinburne University that adapts cognitive behavioural therapy for older adults living in residential aged care. The program takes a systemic approach, involving residents, families and aged-care staff in supporting emotional wellbeing, particularly around depression and anxiety.
Joseph brings warmth, curiosity and a genuine commitment to meeting each person where they are. He is particularly passionate about creating a supportive therapeutic relationship in which clients can explore their experiences, develop greater self-understanding and discover pathways towards meaningful change.
Joseph is also bilingual in English and Spanish and has a passion for fashion.
I am a registered Counsellor (PACFA).
